Harry, 18 years old, is a Chinese-Australian violinist from Sydney Australia. He began his violin studies at the age of 7 with Professor Shi-Xiang Zhang and Suky Mo. He studied with Professor Ole Bøhn in the Open Academy Rising Stars Programme at the Sydney Conservatorium under scholarship during his high-school education. He achieved his Associate and Licentiate of Music Diplomas with distinction at the age of 11 & 13 from the Australian Music Examination Board. Harry has attended a range of masterclasses with acclaimed violinists such as Zakhar Bron, Hukun, Ning Feng, Patinka Kopec, Danielle Belen, Fabiola Kim, Paul Kantor and Robin Wilson. In 2017, Harry was invited by Professor Charmian Gadd to perform at the Central Coast Music Festival. Harry was also invited by the Australian Youth Classic Music Festival to perform Sarasate's Zigeunerwiesen at the Sydney Opera House in 2019. Harry has achieved an abundance of 1st prizes and championships at the local Sydney Eisteddfods. He was awarded a Music Scholarship to attend the Sydney Grammar School for Years 5 and 6 and is now studying at The King's School for high school under a full Bicentennial Music Scholarship. He has attended the Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy in 2019 and 2020 as a 1st violinist and reached the finals of the Musica Viva Strike A Chord Chamber Music Competition in 2020. Harry has won the Gold Award with Honours twice at the 2018 and 2019 Singapore International Solo Competition and was chosen to perform at their closing ceremony. He was also the 1st prize winner at the 2018 Vienna Virtuoso Festival and was invited to play with the Vienna Philharmonic Generations Orchestra at the Golden Hall of Musikverein. In 2020, Harry was chosen to represent Australia at the 2020 Chinese Spring Festival CCTV Worldwide Youth Celebration as a soloist. He was also the finalist and winner of the 2020 Sydney Eisteddfod Crowd Favourites Worldwide Online Competition. Harry has also curated and performed in a wide range of Charity and Bushfire appeal concerts with his friends in the past few years. In the summer of 2022, Harry has attended the prestigious camps of Sounding Point Academy at The Colburn School and Meadowmount School of Music in Lewis NY. He was recently featured on an article by the Violinist.com for attending a masterclass for Danielle Belen and was praised for playing the 1st movement of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with "great control and fast fingers". On the 10th of December 2022, Harry performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Mosman Symphony Orchestra at Sydney's Townhall for a charity concert supporting the 'Symphony for Life' Foundation and raised a total of $24,000. Harry will attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the Fall and study with Prof. Simon James.
